Overdue Accounts Receivable
We are a contractor (roofing). One customer has not paid off the balance - several months after the job was completed. They have been giving us ''promises'' to pay during that period. Can we report them to a credit bureau?

It would be more efficient to have a collection agency take over for you, or a lawyer.
The collection agency can hound them to pay the debt and knows the rules and proceedures that are lawful, and what is crossing the line.
A collections attorney can be ruthlessly efficient at getting your money for you. As there is a contract, and the potential for a lien (maybe) there is a statutory and contractual basis to add on the attorney fees and costs to the outstanding bill, along with interest (pre-judgment and post) at 12%.
