Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Washington

Personal Belongings

Through the years I have boughten items that I paid for, but they were in my exboyfriend's name. He uses them for his job; he is a Disc Jockey. Now that we are split, I want what I paid for back, but he claims that it was a gift to him and that the objects are under his name so therefore they are automatically his. This is true for several other objects in our house. How may I go about getting what I paid for legally? I have proof of my payments from witnesses and so forth.
