Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Washington

I was just served court papers for a debt that I thought I had taken care of years ago. I am willing to take care of the principal balance and would prefer not to go the legal route. Is that possible to do at this point in the process? If so, please let me know how and what to do.

Thank you

Jon

Yes, the attorneys on the other side can negotiate with you in order for you to get rid of this debt. It is likely that you can pay less than what they ask in order for them to forego the summons and complaint; just make sure that upon payment, the lawyers agree to discontinue the action with prejudice.
