Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Washington

Out of state bank garnishment

If I have a Writ for Garnishment out of WA for Bank of America, and the debtor's bank branch is in NV. Can I serve it on a Washington bank. Do I have to do anything special to serve it? If I name just bank of America and no branch name?

Re: Out of state bank garnishment

Is the debtor in WA or NV? Is the debtor's bank national?

There is a precise office upon which you have to serve a garnishment writ.

Sounds like you have done a lot of the work you need to do, but you are going to get nowhere if you serve the wrong place.

Lawyers in WA can provide unbundled services, and any fees you expend can be tacked onto the judgment owed you by the debtor.

You might want to contact Joyce Heritage. You can find any attorney in WA at wsba.org.

Hope this helps. Elizabeth Powell
