WA and TX SOL
I have a question about Texas collection law. I opened credit accounts in TX, in Sept 2000, and moved to Washington State in Jan 2001. I paid regularly and on time, while living in WA, until August 2003. Then, I defaulted. I have not paid since. (I have been unemployed sinnce 2001)The SOL may or may not have expired(it's 3 or 6 yrs) for these debts in Washington State. The TX SOL will not expire until August and September. My questions:
Can the TX SOL be used to file suit against me in WA? If so, will the suit be filed in my TX town, or where I live, now, in WA state? How likely is a creditor to do this? Is the TX SOL tolled permanently, so in ten years, if I moved back to TX, the creditor could sue me?

I can't help you with TX law, I am not licensed there. Debts that you paid on until August of 2003 likely remain collectable until August 2009. The issue is that you have been here since 2001, paid on debts until August 2003 and thus the WA SOL seems to apply because you are a resident of WA, not TX.
They cannot sue you in TX you don't live there. The likelihood of being sued here by your creditors depends on how much money is at stake. More than a few thousand dollars? Maybe yes, depending.
If you were not sued before the SOL runs, then they let it expire and can't sue.
