Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Washington

Can Washington garnish your wages in Texas?

Can the state of Washington garnish my wages in Texas? I co-signed for someone while in the military there but I was still a resident of Texas. I also asked for a copy of the contract sihned by me but they sent something else my employer was there when I asked for the copy.

Re: Can Washington garnish your wages in Texas?

The Washington judgment would have to be domesticated in Texas in order to be collected, i.e. only a Texas judgment can be collected in Texas and you would still enjoy all of the debtor protection of Texas law, e.g. no garnishment.
