Legal Question in Criminal Law in Washington
1991 Conviction
In 1991 I was convicted of possession with intent to deliver. I had never been in trouble before and when i was called in early before a judge, never having spoken to my public defender at any time nor having an opportunity to even make a plea, I was sentenced there and then to 26 months in prison. When I asked my P/D what happened he said he ''traded me''. If you looked up my criminal history you would see that this is the truth. How can they get away with it and what can I do about it now?

Re: 1991 Conviction
This is a horrible story. I'm very sorry that happened to you. I am guessing that by now you've served your sentence so there is nothing you can do to get that time back. You might be able to challenge the conviction to at least get it off your record. Whether you have a lawsuit against any of the parties involved--you'd need to post on the the civil law side of things. Contact me directly if you'd like assistance getting this off your record.
