Legal Question in Criminal Law in Washington

2 Harrassment with Death Threat

I fell off the alcohol wagon and was extremely intoxicated. We were out with my truck and trailered boat. My wife took my keys and ran to another vehicle. I tried to get them from her and she screamed to get attention. Two guys in two cars stopped about 75 feet down the road. My wife took off and I shouted expitives at them cause I thought they were going to come at me. They didn't and I walked off down the road. then a bunch of police came. They arrested me and searched my truck and boat. In the boat I had a revolver (permitted) without bullets. They conviscated it and charged me. I have nothing on my record but a traffic failure to complete stop at sign. What is the precident for what I am facing here. No breathalizer was done.

Re: 2 Harrassment with Death Threat

Unfortunately, it is difficult to predict. I know you are looking for a little predictability so you can plan accordingly. However, a lot of this depends on the particular statements given by your wife/other witnesses and how the prosecutor charges the crime. Then, depending on the strength of your defense preparation, how much they are willing to reduce the charges in plea bargaining because you have a chance of winning at trial. You will want to hire an attorney right away to begin to gather evidence for your defense. Do not make any further statements regarding to the case to anyone including postings online.
