Legal Question in Criminal Law in Washington
2nd degree assault/felony
What is the punishment for this crime? Is a public defender going to do the job? If no one was actually injured (no deadly weapon involved, no poisen ingested, no bodily harm done) is there be a good chance the charge will be lowered or dismissed? What is the difference between class a, b or c felony? I apologize for the vagueness of this question.

Re: 2nd degree assault/felony
Assault 2 is a class B felony which means a maximum punishment of up to 10 years/20,000. Class B also effects the additional time that a deadly weapon enhancement will add to the case.
A public defender will help you if you cannot afford an attorney.
Many factors influence a prosecutor's decision to reduce a charge. That no one was injured is certainly to your benefit. Good luck with your case.
