Legal Question in Criminal Law in Washington

3rd degree theft

I have never ever gotten in any kind of trouble but am being accused of shoplifting even though I did not have anything that wasn't paid for on my persons. What can I do to so that theft doesn't go on my record forever barring me from getting a job period. I just had my first child & I am 27 & female. 3his happened 3 weeks after I had him.
