Accused of inappopriate touching

I received a call from my ex today and she informed me that she spoke with a detective at our local police department. They received a complaint from an unknown party that I had inapproriately touched my daughter in March. This is embarassing and completely untrue. The detective has stated that the facts don�t match up and everything I have gathered tonight seems like they won�t be pursuing it. There is absolutely no truth in these accusations. My question is do I have a right to know who filed the complaint?

You will eventually have that right (sixth amendment right to confront your accuser) but not right away. You will get that right if the case is filed as a criminal charge. Until then, the only right you have is what you can earn through the good will of the detective. I hope you hire an attorney right away to guide you through the investigation process. Police detectives often say things like "the facts don't match up" to get you off your guard. You must keep in mind that nothing they say or promise you is binding in court and that they have no obligation to tell the truth.
