if my friend swung a bat at me and i slapped him in the face then he called the police but I left before the police came what can happen to me

You could be charged with Assault in the 4th degree, depending on what your "friend" decided to tell the police. Consider consulting with a criminal defense lawyer in your area BEFORE talking with the police.
