Legal Question in Criminal Law in Washington
assult and battery
i have a friend whose friend invited her over. her friends brother had begun to punch my friend. my friends family learned of this and went and had a talk with him he's 20 something and she's 17. He has hit her again and i'm wondering what kind of legal action can be taken or what would happen if i tried to get the police involved

Re: assult and battery
Sadly, calling the police is probably the only way to help her. There is no time to go into the specific psychology that occurs that makes the victim almost completely unlikely to help herself, suffice to say, if you don't help her than the violence is likely to escalate until there is serious injury.
