It is very difficult to predict likely punishments. First, all punishments depend on past criminal history. Then, there are a number of mitigating and aggrevating factors to consider. Lastly, there can be enhancements to an offense. You really need a lawyer completely familiar with the entire case to make any sort of accurate prediction. Your friend's lawyer is the one to ask. If he will not tell you have your friend ask him/her. If you do not trust the lawyer's opinion, your friend will need to hire a lawyer to get a second opinion.
