Legal Question in Criminal Law in Washington
attempted burglary
my sister and her son were hired to do some ''under the table'' work from an aquantaince of hers. shes done work before for him w/no probs. so she borrowed a truck & went to property to ''clean it up'' starting with the stuff already to go in garage entrance. pots pans, old bed frames..to which would go to scrap and profits split 70-30.(btw..this ''friend'' didnt have a truck thats why he was hiring help) the door to the garage was already open, so they begin to load. the property= buildings that are condemned, grass to the roofs, w/many piles of debris everywhere, abandoned it seemed. now a relative of the owner arrives & tells her noone had permission to take anything. they unload, leave name number & owners relat takes plate #. ok my sister drops off truck to its owner & tries to find her ''boss''. he says tough luck, youre on your own. she freaks and they go down to oregon to relatives. no arrests were made but cop calls # given which is truck owners #. he tells them what she told him to which a badge # is given & request for her to call. so what her future look like & will the truck owner w/ no knowledge of any wrong just being kind have any problems?

Re: attempted burglary
It sounds fairly complicated but I think I understand the main points. The truck owner will have no difficulty. Your sister and her son absolutely should not speak to the police without an attorney present. If the police had enough information to arrest them they would do so already. Of course, if I were her attorney I'd tell her not to answer their questions at all. If you need further assistance contact me directly.
