Legal Question in Criminal Law in Washington

I was a bartender & got a ticket for serving a minor in 10/2007, got a fine, misdemeanor. I was told in 2 years if no other violations that it would be deferred. I'm not sure what that means but I think it will be taken off my record. I then got arrested in 2/2008 for violation of a no contact order, got fined, misdemeanor. I did not get a probation violation then. I received in the mail 10/8/2009 a letter for sentencing about the liquor violation from 2007. I called the court & was told that the judge requested a review hearing & found the 2008 violation and I might be getting a probation violation. I am confused; I am almost done paying off my fines and have kept out of trouble. I don't have any drug/assault/theft or bad on my record. Why would I get a probation violation a year and 8 months later? Shouldn't they have violated me back in 2/2008? What can I do? Pay off the whole fine? I do not want jail time or work crew. I have been trying to put the past behind me. Thanks

On a two year deferred you must not have criminal law violations for two years. You had one in that time. So, you'll want a lawyer for the review hearing because you are facing jail time/work crew, which, understandably, you don't want.
