Legal Question in Criminal Law in Washington

Burglary 1 first offence

My younger brother is being charged with burglary 1. He just turned 18 (at the beginning of the year) and this is his first offence. What kind of time is he looking at and what can I do to assist him?

Re: Burglary 1 first offence

The problem with a burglary 1st degree is that, by definition, it includes other crimes which can be charged as well. With no other crimes charged and with no aggrevating circumstances the standard range sentence is 15-20 months. However, a weapon can add mandatory 2 years. As a class A felony the absolute worse case is ia life sentence.

Your brother may have a free lawyer but they are just too overworked to be maximumly effective. This charge can be life altering and the family really needs to pool resources to hire an effective private attorney who can focus on your brother's case. If you'd like my assistance contact me directly and I can provide resume & whatever background information you desire. Further, we can talk defense strategies.

At your service,
