Legal Question in Criminal Law in Washington

Can I be charged for trespassing for attending a party that was held at an abandoned home? I was invited to it and I did not know it was an abandoned home because when I got to the party the host mentioned that the home was his but the police ended up busting the party and that home ended up not being the host's.

You can definitely get charged, facts like that result in criminal charges all the time. That is very different from being convicted, of course. It is a defense that the property was abandoned, and it is also a defense if you reasonably believed that you had permission to be there.

Probably a good idea to talk to a lawyer soon, rather than just wait to see if you get charged with a crime.
