What charges can i face

my boyfriend was arrested while driving my vehicle,

the officers conducted a search of my car and found my gun.He didnt know that i had it in there. he is a felon and got charged for it.

i am not a felon,i tryed to explain to the officer that it is mine. the truck is registered to me and everything in the truck belonged to me.the gun was not registered. i wanted to know if and what i can be charged with and if i was charged what are the concequences for this?

I am sorry to hear of the trouble for your boyfriend. I've seen and had many cases like you describe. His defense is called "unwitting possession" the same defense used when drugs are found in a vehicle--basically you didn't know it was there. The bottom line is if the jury believes you and him. Some things they will look at are how often he used the truck, where was the gun, your explanation of when and why you had the gun and why you would leave it in a vehicle you were loaning to someone else. Your gun may not need to be registered. If you had it in a place of concealment then you might possibly be charged with carrying a concealed weapon but this is unlikely. contact me directly if you have more questions.
