Legal Question in Criminal Law in Washington

criminal record espungment

In 1995 I was convicted of an assault. I was innocent, but I got convicted nevertheless. I got kicked out of the army as a result. I have gone to college to teach school but my conviction is keeping me from getting a job. How can I get this offense off of my record, it is ruining me and my families life. I have never done anything in my life, I am broke and do not know what to do. Help!

Re: criminal record espungment

I am sorry that this old charge is interfering with your life so much. Depending on the specifics of your case I can help you. I've worked in criminal defense 12 years now. I would need to know the exact charge of which you were convicted, the sentence, the court, the date and the case number, if you have it. You full name and date of birth will also be needed. Depending on the nature of the charge you would actually be asking for "vacation" not "expungement." Or, if it is a misdemeanor, neither of those are available but I do know of another way to keep it from affecting your record.

The problem is that I'd need $500 if misdemeanor and $1000 if felony to take care of this problem for you and you say you have no money. I'd also need considerable documentation from you regarding your life outside of the charge.

On the plus side, I could do it without you appearing in Washington and, if I'm successful, you could get on with your life.

I hope I can be of assistance to you.

At your service,
