first degree theft
if one is charged with first degree theft, theft of a motor vehicle- the person who reported this vehicle stolen would have to be the right ful owner of the above vehicle correct?

Anyone can report a crime. To convict you, the jury would want to hear from the rightful owner that you did not have permission to use the car. So, the rightful owner will have to become involved in the case. If you have further questions, contact me directly.
