Legal Question in Criminal Law in Washington

Delivery Charge

I am being charged with 2 counts of delivery of meth, with 2 buys on audio only. My lawyer refuses to keep in contact with me and will not allow me a copy of the discovery, is that allowed. Also my lawyer told somebody she hoped I wouldn't tell her anything to incriminate myself, is that ethical? Also, they are having me plead guilty to both charges, and not just one, why? I feel I'm not getting the right representation what do I do?

Re: Delivery Charge

I am sorry you feel you are getting a poor deal. Perhaps you are. Your lawyer should keep in contact with you. However, your lawyer is not allowed to give you a copy of the discovery. Your lawyer should hold everything about your case in confidence--she should not be talking to people who know you. However, I don't think the hope that you will not say anything incriminating is unethical. Your lawyer should explain to you why you need to plea to both charges. I do not know enough about the case. You are free to hire me or another attorney if you are not satisfied with your current lawyer.

At your service,
