Legal Question in Criminal Law in Washington

Domestic Assault

In Washington State, is there a policy or even some law that requires the manditory arrest of the male individual involved in a domestic violence incident, regardless of the situation? A sort of ''sort it out later, or tell it to the Judge'' procedure enacted into Law to ensure public saftey? Maybe the Law exisits to provide enforcement a quick, simple response to an all too often complicated and dangerous situation? I've heard ''no matter what, if the male has struck the female, he goes to jail''. How does the Law read?

Re: Domestic Assault

There is a mandatory arrest law but it applies to the "primary aggressor," not the "male." Why do you ask?
