Dropping a criminal charge
What happens if decided to press charges on someone for damaging my property but now I don't want to anymore???

Nothing happens to the victim for failing to "press charges." However, "pressing charges" is a common misconception from the movies. Usually, the victim doesn't have any choice about whether charges are pursued are not. The police and prosecutor make that choice and the victim is relegated to the role of a simple witness--whether they wish it or not.
