Legal Question in Criminal Law in Washington
Extortion/blackmail
What can I do about having been threatened with a restraining order so I can't see my boys if I didn't provide a power of attorney so she could sell my race car while I was on vacation. When I got back she said that if I cancelled the order that she would make up what she had to to get a restraining order and have me thrown in jail. She then proceded to add herself to my account and empty my checking account of 17,000 dollars and then remove her name from my account. I also found out last week that she took my tax info and filed the return then deposited that in her account also. I can't take this anymore. She is still threatening with the restraining order if I do anything. I am about to explode. This is it in a nut shell.
There is more though.

Well, when a crime occurs you need to call the police but what proof do you have? Does your cell phone have a record function? Can you get a little tape recorder for your pocket (it is illegal to record someone without there consent in the state of washington but you may have a defense of duress--you were forced to--because of her extortion). Is she your wife? What is she doing with all the money? If she isn't your wife the tax fraud and forgery seems like the best charge to send her away on. E-mail me directly.
