Legal Question in Criminal Law in Washington
False Statements to Authorities
I had someone tell the police and CPS untrue things about me in an attempt to bolster their case for having my kids taken from me. CPS and the police did phone interviews and outlined what they said in their own reports. Do I have any recouse?

Re: False Statements to Authorities
Whether you have recourse would depend on what was said, whether there is proof that what was said was false, and whether what was said was privileged. If you are currently charged with an offense or have had CPS take the children, it would be advisable to discuss this matter with an attorney prior to doing anything public.
