Legal Question in Criminal Law in Washington
Me and my family were assaulted by a roomate at the end of jan in WA state. He was arrested on January 23,2009 on multiple charges including assault 2, assault 4, 2 counts of felony harrassment, 2 counts of unlawful imprisonment and 2 counts of malicious mischief in the first degree. 5 days later he was released from jail and all charges were dropped without a no contact order in place. going back and forth between anybody we could think of, the case was brought back up at the end of june but not all charges were brought up. Doing some research, we just recently found out that he was charged with malicious mischief in the 2nd degree and was only sentenced to 120 days. What are our next steps? We are beyond frustrated and cannot get any help from anyone....

In terms of no contact you should seek a protection order. Also, you can sue him in civil court for the damage he did, medical bills, pain and suffering, etc.
