Felony

i havent been in trouble since 2000 or 2001, ive never been in superior court all of my past charges were all misdermeanors but for some reason i have a felony on my record how did i get that and what can i do about it?

What record? Your record with the Washington State Patrol? If so, contact them directly. It may help to get the case number and pull the actual case records to prove that it wasn't you. If you have more difficulty contact me directly.

You have not stated what record (WSP, FBI, report from private company, court record) indicates a felony.

There are several reasons your record might indicate a felony. Contact the court in which the case was filed and, beginning with the court, ensure that the record correctly identifies the offense as a misdemeanor. Request that the court notify WSP of the correct disposition. WSP notifies the FBI of corrections/deletions to records.

The error could be bases upon any of the following:

* human error (data entry)

* someone else using your identity

* increase in offense seriousness level since conviction (data entry issue)
