finger prints
my friends finger prints were on the inside of a window of a car that was broken into so do finger prints hold up in court and what could he be charged with?

Fingerprints do hold up in court. However, all fingerprints do in this case is put your friend at the scene. They do not establish that he was the one who broke the window. If on a window reachable from outside the vehicle the fingerprints do not even establish that he was in the vehicle. Your friend should make sure to have legal counsel should the police/detectives want to bring him in for question.
