Legal Question in Criminal Law in Washington

how to fire your public defender

My Boyfriend has a horrible public defender that seems to be working against him then for him. We don't have 15k to buy him an attorney, how do we fire his public defender and get one who will work for him? How many times can you fire your lawyer befor they stop issuing a public defender?

Re: how to fire your public defender

When the trust has broken down so far that your boyfriend cannot and will not speak to his attorney then the Judge has no choice but to assign a new public defender. Of course, everytime this happens you extend the speedy trial time. It depends on the county how many times they can do this. It also depends on the Judge how many times he will do this. You always end up with a public defender. You'll just end up with a part time public defender verses a full time public defender. You are located in Federal Way, yes? I probably can help you for considerably less than 15K. Contact me directly for further assistance.
