Legal Question in Criminal Law in Washington
Is grabbing shoulder and turning you around assault ?
If you are trying to avoid someone, and they grab your shoulder as you are walking away and forcibly turn you around to ''get into your face'' and tell you what they are going to do to you in the future, (some not so pleasant things), considered assault? It was unwanted contact and quite surprising to be grabbed.

Re: Is grabbing shoulder and turning you around assault ?
The short answer is yes. An intentional act such as grabbing the shoulder of another without permission to do so, that results in the reasonable apprehension of harmful or offensive contact by the one being grabbed is the textbook definition of the tort of assault.
