Legal Question in Criminal Law in Washington

Identity theft

I have been seperated for over 4 yrs. and have custody of the children.

My ex(divorce not final) has before written checks forging my name on them and cashing them. I just recieved notice from my bank of charges that were made against my credit card. When I contacted the company they had my SS# and credit card number. I knew who had done this when they stated the address and it was that of my ex's address.

She has not lived with or around I or the children for over 4 yrs. Can criminal charges be made? What besides getting the divorce finalised can I do? This is not the first time this has happened.

Re: Identity theft

Forging someone elses signature is a crime. Call the police and report it. Your bank will also have a process for challenging fraudulent charges.
