Re: jail time
First, you can't be arrested on anything that suggests you are a threat to the community. Second, you can't have past history that suggests the same. Then, you can't have a history of missing court. Any of these can be mitigated by life changes (I used to be a drug addict but when through rehab 3 years ago--notice the lack of history in that time). Next, demonstrate your ties to the community. Lastly, if you can show important reasons why you need out of custody (work, school, treatment). The more you can document any of these factual assertions the more likely the judge is to believe you and actually reduce your bail.
