Legal Question in Criminal Law in Washington

Meranda Law

I had an officer come to my house about an altercation that had to do with someone breaking my window. He started asking me about what had happened and why you think it happened. I spoke about an altercation with an ex that could have led to some one breaking my window. He told me he was there investigating the window being broken but changed topic to the altercation. He kept on moving me away from my home and towards the area of where his car was. I thought that I was under arrest, because at one time he tugged on my arm to move me farther away from my home. Can anything I say to him about the altercation be used against me if I thought that I was being arrested

Yes, anything you say to police officers can be used against you. They only need advise you of your Miranda rights if they already have cause to arrest you. Use extreme care when speaking with police officers.
