Legal Question in Criminal Law in Washington
What is my options for recanting a statement. My boyfriend got a DUII in my truck.He had on going permission to drive it. However, the morning I found out he got arrested, I reported it stolen to cover myself from any leagal responcibility. the court wants to send him away for long time. So i want to change my statement. New statement," I gave Jaycen the keys to my home and my truck, with access to both. The morning I found out he got arrested for DUII and hit and run (hit a retaining wall) I was very angery and hurt, so I reported my truck stolen, to protect myself from any damages he may have caused. "

You don't have an "option" to recant without facing perjury charges--and rightly so I might add. You'd better hire a lawyer to figure out how you can navigate this mine field you've created for yourself.
