passenger of a hit and run
i have a friend that was a passenger in a hit and run. he was asleep in the back and then woke up and didn't know what happened so he ran with the driver and the other passengers. can he get in trouble for leaving the scene?

I don't believe so. My recall is that the hit and run laws only impose duties on the drivers. Unless there is some evidence suggesting that your friend was the driver there shouldn't be a problem. Of course, if law enforcement officers were ordering to remain at the scene he would be in trouble for leaving then. Contact me directly if your friend needs help with the case.
