Legal Question in Criminal Law in Washington
If a person is arrested, and 2 days later appears before a judge who lets him go because arresting officers did not file paper work in time, can the paper be filed and person arrested on same charges again? Washington State, KIng County

It is possible. The reports may be given to the prosecutor at any time, and they can file charges later. For most misdemeanors, the State can take up to two years to file. Longer for felonies.
It is not likely the person would be arrested. Once the report is provided to the prosecutor, the police are basically out of the process. You would normally get a summons to appear. Make sure the DOL has your current mailing address.
