Legal Question in Criminal Law in Washington

Petition to Court for relief of requirement to register as sex offender

I have been exhonerated of a misdeamenor crime - Contact w/ a minor for UImmoral Purposes for nearly two years now. I can get no assistance from any legal practioner on how to petition the court through the original prosecutorial jurisdiction for Relief of the requirement to continue to regiter as a sex offender. I have all the termination and suspended sentence paper. The court failed to notify the Washington State Patrol at the time of exhoneration. Further they failed to inform me it is a separate function of law that must be done by me having met all the applicable tests under the RCW's. Please oh please help me, my life is being ruined. I am not an offender and the court has shown this. But no-one will file the petition nor even tell me how to do it.

Re: Petition to Court for relief of requirement to register as sex offender

You need to seek an attorney in your area who will seek to do an expungement of your records as aell as a removal of your criminal information history from the Wasjhington State Patrol computer. You will have to look for an attorney in your area because the expungement petition has to be done in the same court as the original action. With your exhonoration, there can be no requirement to register as a sex offender because that requirement only exists if you are convicted or plead guilty to a sex offense. You shoul dshow your paperwork to the local State Patrol Office as well as your local Sheriff's office. Good Luck to you.
