Legal Question in Criminal Law in Washington
prosecuting attorney/ court
If someone is told that they will get a gross misdemeanor by the deputy prosecuting attorney, then is scheduled with a court case, why do they need an attorney? Is the prosecuting attorney not a final decision or is there more to the court case than that?

Re: prosecuting attorney/ court
Maybe the Prosecutor is offering you a good deal because there is something terribly wrong with the case. Maybe if you had a defense attorney you'd get a dismissal.
