It should take a few months. Sadly, they have up to three years. You may wish to hire an attorney to hurry things along. Further, if their delay might injure your case it can be a reason to have it dismissed. I believe MIP is a simple misdemeanor facing 90 days of jail and $1,000 fine. None of the jail is likely to be impossed on a first offense. The more significant penalty is that it will suspend your privilege to drive. Also, you may be required to get a chemical dependency evaluation. So, there is a lot a defense attorney can do to benefit you in your defense. Good luck to you.
