Re: reckless driving YES!
An attorney can review your case to see if you may actually be in the rare circumstances that would indicate a deferred prosecution (once in a lifetime alternative) is appropriate.
While there are significant consequences for a reckless driving conviction, a deferred prosecution program requires not only an acknowledgment that you suffer from alcoholism or mental health defects, but that you are committed to successfully completing treatment.
Re: reckless driving
You do not need an attorney to enter a deferred prosecution. That said, I highly recommend you speak with an attorney as I seriously doubt you'll want to use your one time per lifetime deferred prosection on a reckless driving charge. Contact me directly if you'd like further assistance. If you have no money the public defender should be able to answer these questions for you.
