Hello,

Do I need an attorney to get a record of Rx. fraud back in 1987 expunged?

Thank you very much.

Re: Getting Record Expunged

You do not need an attorney. However, you should educate yourself on the applicable law and issues you may encounter. [RCW 9.94A.640] Forms can be found on www.courts.wa.gov.

There is no expungement of convictions in Washington State. The relief you are seeking is "vacation of conviction".

If you have a conviction for ANY criminal offense after discharge, you will be ineligible to vacate the conviction (unless you are able to vacate a single misdemeanor).

If you never received a certificate of discharge, you will first need to accomplish that task, ensuring that the certificate is "backdated" to qualify your conviction to be vacated.
