Legal Question in Criminal Law in Washington

search warrants

I had just left a friends house, and headed to my car when police arrived. They had a search warrant which had been issued due to a sworn statement that there were drugs in the home as seen by someone the day before, but I wasn't there at the time. The officers approached me and informed me I was named on the warrant and searched me, my purse, and my car. What legal grounds did they use to involve, me?Is what they did even legal? Dont the laws require more probable cause than that I am a friend who visits frequently?

Re: search warrants

The real question is did the find anything? If so then we would want to review the search warrant and see if the did have legal grounds to search you. Being a friend who visits often would not be enough and we could have the discovered evidence suppressed. If they did find something contact me directly to discuss this further.
