Legal Question in Criminal Law in Washington

sexual harassment

My adult daughter is being verbally and physically harassed and is afraid to do anything for fear of losing her job or working conditions. The person responsible for this behavier has dropped items down her blouse, snapped her with a rubber band in the nipple area of her breast, made lewd remarks in front of co-workers, and sent inapropriate e-mails. He was asked one time, by a co-worker, if he knew what sexual harrasment is, to wich he responded ''get serious''. She has asked him repeatedly to stop, to no avail. As I said earlier she is very worried about her employment status. What do you think she should do? I'm not sure what area of law this is.

Re: sexual harassment

This situation is VERY SERIOUS and your daughter must take immediate action. Is the harassing party merely a co-worker or a supervisor? Who is he? Is he a boss or manager? Your daughter has been subjected to not only criminal assault but also on the job harassment. She also may have grounds to take action against the company, her employer, for hostile work environment as well as sexual harassment on the job. Why is she staying on this job that subjects her to such risk to her personal safety? No job is worth this much trouble. Is this harassment being done to force her out of her job? If so,then both the co-worker and the employer could be liable for a substantial damage award. Have her call me immediately. This situation cannot go on any longer.
