The maximum penalty under state law and most municipal ordinances is 365 days in jail and a $5000 fine. There are cities in which the municipal code provides for a maximum penalty of 90 days and a lower monetary penalty.
Note that these are maximum penalties. An offender convicted of this violation may receive a penalty of 365 days in jail, but typically, nearly all of this term is suspended.
It is never advisable to face prosecution for serious misdemeanors, e.g. assault, DUI, without legal counsel. There are too many enduring consequences.
