Should you get a lawyer?

Do you care what happens to you?

MIP can suspend your driver's license (depending on your age). Commonly a conviction would require that you be assessed for alcohol counselling, and a fine of $500 - $1000 is common.

Use of a fradulent ID is categorized as a crime of dishonesty, and can keep you out of certain school or job opportunities down the road.

Of course, they both carry the possibility of jail, too, but that is not very common.

I believe that even if you don't hire a laywer, you should certainly talk to one before you go to court.
