Legal Question in Criminal Law in Washington
Traveling to Mexico
My dad wants to take the whole family to Mexico next January. I've been before, so I have a passport, but the problem is I have a felony record. It was a class C felony, and it has been over a year since I recieved my Certificate of Discharge. Can I now leave the United States, or do I have to wait the full 5 years to get my record vacated? What would happen if I did leave the country then re-entered after a week's vacation? My passport was never taken from me when I was convicted, and it is in my married name, I now am divorced and returned to my maiden name.
