Legal Question in Criminal Law in Washington
Vacating records
Hi, I was convicted of two misdemeanor crimes, multiple counts each, at the same time. Meaning, everything happened on the same occasion, and were not ''repeat'' occurances, and I just went through the whole conviction process once, but charged with more than one misdomeanor. My question is, does this count as 1 conviction for vacating purposes? Ex: Can 1 conviction include multiple crimes? I have no prior or subsequent convictions, and every other requirement to vacate and seal records is met by my conditions in my state. (4 years have passed, the crimes are non-violent, etc.). I know that I am allowed to vacate one conviction, but do not know if this one conviction can contain multiple crimes. I was charged with POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY IN THE THIRD DEGREE, COUNT 2 and VEHICLE PROWL IN THE SECOND DEGREE, COUNT 3. (GROSS MISDEMEANOR/MISDEMEANOR). All fines and restitution have been paid in full. Obviously a lack of judgement on my part at the time, but wishing to rectify and move on from here. But just didn't know if everything would qualify to get vacated/sealed, or if in this case only one of these misdemeanors (or one count of one misdemeanor) would qualify. Thanks in advance!

Re: Vacating records
Yes, one conviction includes multiple counts. However, if the prosecutor and judge don't know this you'll have to go to court and explain the law to them. If you'd like my help let me know. I charge $500 to vacate a criminal record.
