Legal Question in Criminal Law in Washington

Violation of anti-harrassment order

I have an anti-haarassment order against my boyfriends ex- wife and she has violated it 6 times and calls me from a Restricted or blocked number. I report it each time to police. Will her phone records be supeoned and would the originating number show up? She hired a lawyer, should I have one or rely on City Prosecuting Attorney?

Re: Violation of anti-harrassment order

The first thing I would ask is how do you know she called. Did you speak with her? Then the question becomes is she calling from her own phone (which would be very foolish)? If not, subpeoning her phone records isn't going to help. Whether you should hire a lawyer or not depends on how important this case is to you. Is it worth the thousands of dollars a lawyer will cost? Only you can make that call. You know how much money you have vs. the concern you have that caused you to get the anti-harassment order. Perhaps you should sit down and consult with a lawyer to go over your concerns and possible course of action. Then you can decide if it is worth it.
