Legal Question in Criminal Law in Washington
WA. Law/Murder sentence
Hi, in August 2006 a no contact order was placed on my spouse. Earlier this year he was sentenced to 39 years for murder. Is it possible to get the order lifted or does WA law continue to be irrational?

I take it he is not supposed to initiate contact with you which it does not sound like he will be doing while doing major time in prison. I take it you are not bound by any obligations under the order. If you want to see him and initiate contact out of your free will, frankly I do not see a problem. If you really want to make sure, you could go to the court which issued the order and have them give you permission to visit him.
